WINE

We might be the best spirit shop in the Bay Area, but we love our fermented grapes in all the wonderful shades available. The larger part of our wine selection is sustainably produced with indigenous varietals, minimal intervention practices and an identity of place. The selection is made with the highest regard for the earth and the resources she provides. Our goal is to offer the highest quality for the biggest value. “Wine is sunlight, held together by water” -Galileo

  1. ALESSIO CHINATO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    ALESSIO CHINATO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    $31.00

Alessio Vermouth Chinato is also based on a classic recipe from the late 19th century combined with the additional bittering of Cinchona bark and more than 25 other balancing herbs, including Grande and Petite Wormwood, and reflects an almost-lost style of bitter vermouth. The slightly lower ABV than the Vermouth di Torino Rosso helps highlight this Chinato vermouth's backbone and aromatics, making it a complex alternative to sweet vermouth in cocktails as well as excellent on its own.

  2. ALESSIO VERMOUTH BIANCO 750 mL

    ALESSIO VERMOUTH BIANCO 750 mL

    $22.00
  3. ALESSIO VERMOUTH DI TORINO 750 mL

ALESSIO VERMOUTH DI TORINO 750 mL

    $25.00

Based on a classic di Torino recipe from the late 19th century, Alessio Vermouth di Torino Rosso is designed to be enjoyed as what was commonly called a "Vino di Lusso" (luxury wine), a wine thoroughly consumed on its own. Created with a fine Piedmont wine as the base, this authentic Vermouth di Torino contains both Grande and Petite Wormwood, along with over 25 other pharmaceutical-grade herbs, roots and spices. As a result, this vermouth offers a full mouth-feel that contributes weight to a cocktail, and slightly bitter but bright, refreshing citrus and herbal notes that lengthen the finish. This is a dense, dark vermouth — bittersweet with notes of licorice root, baking spices, and dark chocolate. It works well as a cocktail ingredient, but can quite easily be enjoyed on its own

  4. ALTENBURGUR BLAUFRANKISCH 750 mL

    ALTENBURGUR BLAUFRANKISCH 750 mL

    $18.00

This is Markus’ entry-level blaufränkisch. The grapes were handpicked at the beginning of October, destemmed and mashed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. After pressing and maloactic, the wine was moved into large 2000L neutral wooden casks and aged for twelve months prior to bottling. It’s what you’d want in a basic blaufränkisch: juicy and bright with just enough grip.

  5. AMEZTOI ROSE TXAKOLINA 750 mL

    AMEZTOI ROSE TXAKOLINA 750 mL

    $23.00

Ameztoi Txakolina is one of the top producers of Getariako Txakolina. They own 20 hectares of vines in the best location. From the vineyards one can see the town of St. Sebastian and understand the influence of the Atlantic Ocean on local viticulture.

  6. ANDRE CLOUET BRUT ROSE 750 mL

ANDRE CLOUET BRUT ROSE 750 mL

    $53.00

Jean-François Clouet, who was born and raised in Bouzy, still lives in the 18th century village house built by his ancestors. This Rose Champagne is generous and fine. Another Champagne from Clouet that achieves both structure and opulence, yet remains focused. Plenty of bright red fruit, and very obviously Pinot Noir. Yet all of the pleasure points that make Champagne so special are woven throughout.

  7. ATXA BLANCO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    ATXA BLANCO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    $21.00

Atxa/Atcha uses family recipes dating back to the 1830s to make their fortified wines. The wormwood, gentian root, and bitter orange are just part of the recipe for this Basque vermouth. With floral aromas and some mint, this refreshing vermouth is perfect with a little lemon and soda.

  8. ATXA TINTO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    ATXA TINTO VERMOUTH 750 mL

    $21.00

The Vino Vermouth Rojo is a sipping vermouth. Rich and sweet, lighter and drier than a sweet vermouth like Carpano Antica. Try serving as an aperitif over ice and garnished with an orange wedge or lemon slice. This Vermouth will also work exceptionally well in your favorite cocktail.

  9. AVINYO PETILLANT 750 mL

    AVINYO PETILLANT 750 mL

    $16.00

Petillant is a vi d’agulla, the Catalan name for prickly wine. This vibrant and refreshing wine is the traditional summertime quaffer of the Penedès region of Catalonia. Bright honeysuckle and almond on the nose. Bracingly dry on the palate, with flavors of lemon peel and a faint brininess. A Cask favorite!

  10. BADENHORST CAPERITIF 750 mL

    BADENHORST CAPERITIF 750 mL

    $33.00

Developed by Danish mixologists, this South African aperitif should be on your wishlist. Starting with a Chenin Blanc wine base and fortified with spirit, it’s lightly sweetened by the sugar of the grapes, bittered by Cinchona bark and infused with over 30 unique Cape ingredients such as fynbos (flowering shrub), kalmoes (also called Sweet Flag, a marsh plant) and naartjies (a type of mandarin orange).
