Named for the founder of the Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Masataka Taketsuru. This Pure Malt expression is a blend of single malt whiskies distilled at the Yoichi and Miyagikyo Distilleries. A variety of cask finishing leads to a soft aroma with citrus and fruit notes. These notes shift to sherry, vanilla, green fruits on the palate. A Cask favourite!
This malt driven spirit is truly a reflection of contemporary Japanese whisky. A blend of 75% malt whisky and 25% corn, it’s incredibly balanced, soft and layered. A blending of sherry, bourbon and wine casks with hints delicate hints of peat make for a harmonious whisky. Expect flavors of ripe cherry, honey toffee and a beautiful ginger spice.

Matsui Shuzou, producer of Kurayoshi, was founded in 1909 and is both a sake brewery and shochu distillery. They’re releasing some classic malt profiles, sourcing some stock from Scotland and blending with Japanese distillate and local water sources. Expect rich caramel, dried fruit, and a very light woodsy spice.
