Description

• Michter’s Sour Mash whiskey is a solid American whiskey, emphasizing the sour mash method that is used in making this whiskey (and virtually all American whiskey). It is distilled from a proprietary grain mash that has a fair amount of rye grain in addition to a fair amount of corn and some barley malt, and is aged in new charred oak. That being said this isn't bourbon, probably due to the corn content being lower than 51%. A lovely and fruity whiskey, the nose is supple and silky, all apples with a touch of caramel behind it. The fruitiness continues into the palate with apple pie, and doesn't drink like it’s been bottled at 86 proof.  There is a graininess and a touch of corn on the mid palate, with some popcorn in the finish.
