Description
The custom barrel was chosen in early March 2025. It was a rough afternoon blending 6 different exclusive stave finished bourbons together. We failed more than we succeeded. We spit out the bad and drank the good. It was a monumental task I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. But some brave souls had to endure the big aroma of baking spices, nutty flavor up front into cocoa mid palate - the finish that makes you want to go back for a second and third sip. Yes. we did it.
We summed it up with stave finishes of 40% Baked American Pure 2 (P2), 20% Seared French Cuvee (Cu), 20% Maker’s Mark 46 (46), 10 % Roasted French Mendiant (Mn) and 10 % Toasted French Spice (Sp).
Our 112.4 proof bourbon still has the classic Maker’s Mark mash of 70% corn 16% soft red winter wheat 14% malted barley.
