• Highland Park distillery, founded in 1798, is a Scotch whisky distillery based in Kirkwall, Orkney. It is the most northerly whisky distillery in Scotland. The name of this whisky does not refer to the area of Scotland known as The Highlands, but rather to the fact that the distillery was founded on an area called ‘High park’ distinguished from a lower area nearby. This 15-year-old offers limes citrus, light oak, sherry, and light peat smoke on the nose. The palate evokes sweet vanilla, dry sherry, and citrus. Rather quick finish with some saltiness at the very end. Lingering sherry aftertaste.
